R.I.P. "The Zone", Welcome "The Alley"
We started to remodel the youth room last week...it was a much needed remodel to say the least. The days of having a temporary wall seperating the building, cutting the useable space in half is gone. Stained carpet...gone! Well, it will be soon. Unexciting walls...not gone, but covered with a brick painted wall (aka Faux Brick Painting...for those of you who watch the DIY shows). We are putting up a stage to help with the redevelopment of the youth band and the creation of a drama team. Spandex (yes, Spandex) will be stretched over chainlink fence to create a projection screen for our...yes, you guessed it, projector. Make way for "The Alley"!! The painting is looking good. The carpet is looking bad (thanks Tucker!)...but that is ok we are gonna replace it. and the "Dumpster" (aka the storage spot for Angelfood) is looking like it will be a challenge...but we are up for it...right? I will put pictures up soon and keep you updated. -Kyle
Wow!...Sorry for the neglect.
I just created a personal blog for my self and realized that I already made one for the youth. I guess I am sorry if anyone was hoping for a new post. I will keep the youth stuff mainly on this page and keep my personal stuff on my personal page...ignore my first post on this page that was telling about my ups and downs with the first week "on the job". This should be good to keep the page updated and keep record of our good times together as a youth group. I will try and keep it updated. Later! -Kyle

Here we go!
Hey everyone! Well, I just started the "job" of the Student Pastor...I say it's a job, but I really enjoy being a part of young people's lives and watching them grow to know and serve Jesus Christ...it doesn't seem like "work", but I am thankful that the Lord has given me this opportunity and ministry, and I pray that He will continue to give me His guidance and direction to lead this group of awesome young men and women. I am officially at the end of my first week and I am very excited about my future with the J-Walkers. Sure, it is going to take some time to "settle in" and get to know everyone, but I have already started getting to know a few of you and look forward to talking with the rest of you. I went to the Middle School and High School this week for the first time...it was a little awkward to say the least, I have never had a problem with meeting new people (I moved around alot when I was younger, and was always the "new kid"), but for some reason I felt completely out of place. I will continue to go to the schools on Thursdays dispite the uncomfortableness, I am reminded of the many times (365 to be exact...funny how its the same number as the amount of days we have in the year) the Lord has told us to "Fear not!". The Word tells us that the Lord who sends us is always with us, and that we dont need to fear, or even need to worry about what to say or do, because He will give us the words to say when we need it. God has a plan for all of His children, and He will equip us in His time...Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us that "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." and it goes on to read in verses 7 and 8 "You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you." What a great feeling it is to know that the creator of the universe knew you before you even arrived here on this Earth, and He has "set you apart" for a special purpose, and He has got your back...it doesn't get better than that! What a week...I look forward to next week, I am leaving on Thursday for Mississippi to attend my freind Cayenne's wedding, I should be back late Saturday night. Well, I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog to kinda let you guys know how I am, and what I am planning on doing with the youth ministry. Whether you are a student, parent, or just someone checkin us out, I hope this blog will give you a better understanding of who I am and what the Lord is doing with me and the J-Walkers. God bless you guys! - Kyle
